The water is drooping from the faucet

each drop is keeping me awake.

But somehow it's drowning out the booming bass

that's covering up my mother's screech

that muffled my father's loud sobs

which closed my ears to the thud of my brother's body

that somehow deafened the gun shots

and skid of a car pulling away

and somehow all this suffocated the sirens and mixture of my low cries.

Because, when i woke up this morning 

I heard the water dripping

But it wasn't till i opened my door

and realized it wasn't a dreary dream

but the reality of my future

That my heart 

crashed

and shattered like glass.
